Whether you're just starting out or already an experienced performer, my classes are designed to foster your growth and take your craft to the next level

New members welcome

The 3 biggest struggles actors face:

Lack of confidence

Being an actor is tough, you take some real knocks, you have to be willing to have the door closed on you many times and, each time, pick yourself back up re-group and go again - remembering every no is hard but every no is one step closer to a yes

LACK OF OPPORTUNITIES

The wonderful world of acting is a hugely over-saturated market, with 1000’s of new graduates coming out of drama school from all over the country each year and not a huge amount of jobs on offer, it can feel very daunting and that growth is slow

LACK OF CONTACTS

So much of our industry is built on networking, getting your foot in the door, keeping your finger on the pulse, being in the conversation, but if you've been out of it for a while then getting back into the hustle can be a little daunting.

make new valuable connections

Just by joining our classes you already networking with actors from all over Scotland. Plus you’ll have advice from me and shared contacts of mine going forward.

What classes involve:

Each class follows the same structure, whether you're dropping in for a day or joining us for a term you can always feel a part of it

PHYSICAL

Using trusted simple yogic exercises, Alexander technique and fun movement games inspired by laban - we will get the body prepared to work. No matter where you are physically we can cater for your needs. Being present in your body as an actor is so vital. To be able to transform yourself into someone else you first have to be comfortable in your own skin.

MENTAL

We shall focus on getting the mind ready to work, clearing out all the nonsense of life, teaching you techniques from wonderful guides such as Eckhart tolle and Wim Hoff - these techniques will give you the ability to be in the room. Acting is listening and reacting. I used to find it a struggle to listen, I was always thinking of what to say, these techniques help us to have more awareness and clarity so we can be fully present and respond as our character would.

practical

We put what we’ve learned to work. With everything preparation is everything once we get to the practical part we’ll have done most of the hard work. I’m going to teach your from my experience how to approach text, how to add intention to each line, how to command the space, how to bring the best version of yourself to your work. Each class will have a practical performance part to it and I’ll give feedback and open it out onto the floor for discussion, allowing an environment where we can all learn from one another.

LEE HARRIS ACTING HEADSHOT

Lee harris

I'm a Glasgow boy, born and bred. My journey hasn't been one of ease, but it's molded me into the person and actor I am today.

From the age of 8 years old, I was placed in the care system. I had always been a fantasist. I would always dream big, and I used to sit up all night, staring out at the sky, wondering how everything worked. I would find myself completely lost in my mind and would create magical worlds and scenarios. I was often left to my own devices, which gave me a huge playground. I would wander off and go exploring on my own. I used to walk to different areas and pretend I was different people depending on where I was and who I met.

When I went into care, this behavior was exacerbated. I wouldn't speak to people and retreated more into my own head. Movies and TV became a solace for me. I could really identify with the stories, especially the underdog ones, and I started to notice the pattern in the structure of the movies. I would ponder my life story in movie form in my head, and from about the age of 9, I always knew I was going to be on the stage, performing for thousands of people. I could picture it so clearly, and it came to life.

A boy like me doesn't end up in the places I have. It's like a movie! My career has taken me all over the world. I managed to get a scholarship to an acting school in Glasgow, which then led to a scholarship at the prestigious Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London. Since graduating, I've had such a wonderful, varied career.

I've had the great privilege of performing in the West End in London in shows such as Les Misérables and Oliver. I've traveled around the world with a 4-piece show I'm part of - last year we visited 51 cities in 24 countries. I've experienced all forms of our wonderful industry, from starting a theater festival set on a farm with over 70 performers, fringe gigs performing to 30 people, cruise ships, pantomimes, student films, feature films, producing my own films - I've had a go at all, and I still continue to hustle.

Unless you're Leonardo DiCaprio - in this industry, one minute you can be sailing around the world, getting treated like royalty, and the next, you're performing above a pub to 20 people. But hey, I wouldn't have it any other way. Come join the wild ride.
